This class is designed to introduce students to the world of Connected Vehicle (CV). A one-day seminar, it will cover the technologies used at a connected vehicle intersection including Road Side Units (RSU) and vehicle On Board Units (OBU). This class will also cover the required items needed when considering a connected vehicle program including, but not limited to, controller requirements, communication considerations, and it will cover some of the more basic applications of CV including Signal Phase and Timing (SPaT), Map Messages, and Traveler Information Messages (TIM). Students are encouraged to bring their laptop computers.
